At Rehab Medicine of the Carolinas, we are proud to offer a comprehensive physical therapy program led by a team of licensed and experienced physical therapists who collaborate closely with our physiatrists to carry out customized recovery plans. Each therapist is highly trained to address a broad spectrum of physical impairments, and together, our team brings diverse clinical backgrounds and a shared commitment to helping patients achieve functional independence and an improved quality of life.
Working under the direct guidance of our board-certified physiatrists, our physical therapists deliver hands-on care and one-on-one instruction tailored to each patient’s unique needs and rehabilitation goals. Whether patients are recovering from surgery, injury, chronic conditions, or neurologic disorders, our therapists are equipped to support them through every stage of recovery.
We treat a wide range of conditions, including but not limited to:
- Musculoskeletal pain and injuries: joint pain, back pain, neck pain, frozen shoulder, muscle strains and sprains
- Orthopedic rehabilitation: both pre-operative conditioning and post-operative recovery for joint replacements, spinal procedures, and other surgical interventions
- Sports-related injuries: customized rehab programs focused on safe return to play for athletes of all levels
- Balance and coordination issues: treatment for dizziness, vestibular disorders, falls prevention, and gait training
- Neurologic impairments: including peripheral neuropathy, movement disorders, and post-stroke mobility challenges
- Chronic conditions: such as weakness, lymphedema, arthritis, and degenerative joint diseases
To complement our manual therapy and exercise programs, we also provide access to various therapeutic modalities that enhance treatment outcomes, including moist heat therapy, cryotherapy (cold packs), and transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS).
As part of our commitment to continuity of care, each patient receives a personalized home exercise program (HEP). These programs include detailed written instructions and in-person training to ensure patients can confidently continue their therapy at home. Our physical therapists also offer guidance on the use and proper fit of assistive devices, such as canes, walkers, wheelchairs, orthotics, and prosthetics, with a focus on safety and independence.
Our team also has specialized training in sports rehabilitation, helping injured athletes rebuild strength, restore mobility, and transition safely back to competitive or recreational activity.
Through progressive loading, sport-specific drills, and return-to-play protocols, we help ensure a safe and successful recovery.
Whether you’re recovering from surgery, managing a chronic condition, or navigating the aftermath of an injury, our physical therapy team is here to guide and support you every step of the way.
