Spinal Cord Injury

The team at Rehab Medicine of the Carolinas provides lifelong comprehensive spinal cord injury management.

We help patients transition from levels of care, strive to improve physical and mental well-being, and help with community re-entry.

Our providers have experience treating patients of all ages and with both traumatic and non-traumatic spinal cord injuries.

We will assist with the development of a tailored treatment plan to address each patient’s specific needs.
The spinal cord injury program is an integrated care model and offers treatment for a wide array of impairments such as:

  • Spasticity
  • Pain
  • Neuropathy
  • Autonomic dysreflexia
  • Wounds
  • Hemiplegia/weakness

We also help to manage co-existing conditions such as deep vein thrombosis, heterotopic ossification, diabetes, and osteoporosis.

Nutrition, pressure relief, and equipment evaluation are also addressed as these are key elements for the patient with spinal cord injury.
